1. Purpose of Comments

We believe in fostering a community where seekers can share insights, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about spiritual teachings, practices, and related topics. Comments enrich the conversation and help build understanding.

2. Comment Guidelines

To ensure a positive experience for all, please observe the following:

  1. Relevance
    • Keep your comment focused on the content of the post. Off-topic remarks may be removed.
  2. Respectful Language
    • Use polite, constructive language.
    • Avoid profanity, insults, hate speech, or personal attacks.
  3. No Spam or Self-Promotion
    • Do not post unsolicited advertisements, affiliate links, or promotional content.
    • Relevant links to reputable sources are allowed but must enhance the discussion.
  4. Accuracy & Integrity
    • Share information you believe to be true. If citing facts or quotations, provide proper attribution.
    • Do not make defamatory or misleading statements.
  5. Privacy & Personal Data
    • Do not publish personal, sensitive, or private information about yourself or others (e.g. phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers).
  6. Copyright & Infringement
    • Only post content you own or have permission to use.
    • Excerpts longer than 200 characters require a link to the original source.
  7. No Illegal Content
    • Do not post anything that encourages illegal activity or violates any law.

3. How to Post a Comment

  • Use the comment form at the bottom of each article.
  • Provide your name (or pseudonym) and a valid email address (for comment notifications; your email will not be published).
  • Comments are limited to 2,000 characters.
  • You may use basic formatting (bold, italics, lists). No HTML or Markdown is supported.

4. Moderation & Approval

  1. Pre-Approval: We may hold comments for review before they appear.
  2. Post-Approval: Comments may appear immediately but can later be edited or removed.
  3. Reasons for Removal:
    • Violation of the guidelines above
    • Spam, malware, or phishing attempts
    • Offensive, abusive, or harassing language
    • Defamatory or infringing content
  4. Editorial Discretion: We reserve the right to approve, edit (to remove prohibited material), or delete any comment at our sole discretion, without prior notice.

5. User Responsibilities

By commenting, you agree to:

  • Take responsibility for the content you post.
  • Indemnify us against any claims arising from your comment.
  • Grant us the rights described below in Section 6.

6. License to Use Comments

You retain copyright in your comments. However, by submitting a comment you grant Wisdom of Yogananda a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, distribute, and display your comment in any media or format.

7. Privacy of Commenters

  • Name Display: Your chosen name or pseudonym will be displayed publicly along with your comment.
  • Email Addresses: Collected solely to notify you of replies or updates; never published or shared.
  • Data Retention: Comments and related metadata may be retained indefinitely, unless you request removal (see Section 8).

8. Comment Removal & Data Requests

  • To edit or delete your own comment, please use the edit/delete links displayed next to it (if available).
  • To request removal of your comment or to exercise any data rights (access, correction, deletion), email us at privacy@wisdomofyogananda.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Comment Policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. The “Effective Date” at the top will indicate the latest revision. Please review this page periodically.
